Subway offers a lot of interesting and flavorful menu options to appeal to local tastes, customs, and religious preferences of people around the world." Some of the unique Subway sandwiches from across the globe include:


• Australia: Wagyu Beef, a lightly seasoned, premium-quality beef patty that's known for its marbled appearance and served with home-style tomato relish.

• Brazil: Smoked Chicken and Cream Cheese that's similar to chicken salad but made with cream cheese instead of mayo.

• India: Paneer Tikka, made with marinated cottage cheese slices cooked in a traditional Indian clay oven.

Variations in Asia

India:

Due to the majority of the population following Hinduism and the majority of the rest of the population being Muslims, Subway does not serve beef or pork in India. The adjustments made to the sandwiches include the veggie delight and complete vegetarian branches in certain parts of the country. One of these sandwiches modified specifically for the Indians to enjoy is the “PaneerTikka” sandwich which is marinated cottage cheese slices cooked in a traditional Indian style oven. Another sandwich exclusive to the country is the “Corn and Pea” sandwich which consists of vegetables and a mayonnaise based sauce and is completely vegetarian ready. Pakistan:

But it has been quite innovative in Pakistan; to its credit it has introduced mouthwatering Sandwiches, Chicken Teriyaki, Subway Melt, Steak & Cheese, Roasted Chicken Breast etc.



Japan:



Japan’s market is a big fan of seafood and this provoked Subway to invest more under water.  They introduced the “Shrimp and Broccoli” sandwiches which appealed to both the palette craving for seafood and plus was healthy and light appealing to the Japanese. For those who want something heavier, yet still has a local touch to it, Subway made the ”Bacon, Potato and Anchovy Sauce” sandwich and also added a breakfast sandwich called the “Spanish Omelette” sandwich. Another combine favorite is egg salad again with too much mayonnaise and white bread. Japanese people don’t like to eat with their hands so they also introduced subway salad bread bowl. They have provided variety of sauces nothing special which can satisfy their customer.



Saudi Arabia :


In accordance with local customs, the food at Subway restaurants in the region is Halal.Subway introduced the “Halloumi” sandwich for Saudi consumers in the Kingdom. Halloumi is a soft white cheese made from sheep and goat milk. It has a high melting point and is typically grilled or fried. Also, as alternatives to pork, Subway introduced lamb sandwiches which exhibit more of the local culture in the way it’s cooked like a kebab. All Subway sandwiches in this region are completely halal.A customer can pick and choose the cheese and veggie toppings for a sandwich to suit the calorie requirement.
